Ford Mondeo Mk1 front bumper removal

Here is how I removed the front bumper on my UK 1994 Ford Mondeo GLX hatchback.
You should work from the Ford workshop manual or the Haynes manual.
Attempt this only if you are good at car repair and aware of all the safety requirements.

Step 3. Remove the 4 nuts which hold the bumper on.

The 4 nuts are at the front of the engine compartment and are a bit tricky to find.
To help you, here is a view of the bumper after removal.
I have used red tape to mark the 4 studs on the bumper and the 4 holes which the studs go into.
You need to find the 4 nuts on the other side of those holes, at the front of the engine compartment.
The nuts are difficult to see but easy to find by feel...

To remove the nuts you need a 13mm socket with a socket-handle and a short extension.
This view from above shows two socket extensions which I positioned on the 2 nuts on the drivers side...

You may find it easier to access these nuts from underneath (if you removed the under-bumper-trim).
I reached the 2 drivers-side nuts from above, and the 2 passenger-side nuts from underneath.
